Today is the start of the "new" life. The life without animal products.
I say that with as much optimism as I can because I know that to get there will be a process yet. As much as I want to give up all animal products, it's hard to know where to start and what to eat from here on out. I am not too worried about not eating meat, since I rarely cooked a lot of meat anyways but I have been known to go to a BBQ or two in the summer. It's mainly the eggs, the yoghurt and, worst of all, the cheese! I mean cheese?!?! I am a self-confessed cheesaholic! I am also a little worried about my sweet tooth. I reeeeally crave myself some Haribo sometimes (who am I kidding - every day!!) so we will see how I get on with cutting these things out of my diet. I am a long way off from living that desired healthy life that not only helps me but other people and animals around me and especially the planet but I have decided to start a food diary to document my journey there.
Today is Wednesday, 16th of August.
I ate
Breakfast:
"Chocholate Cushion Cereals" with cow's milk (we still have 1,5l of cow's milk in the fridge before cutting that out and I am never ever letting food/ drinks go to waste so that will have to be finished)
*Sidenote: we've already found a great alternative at Lidl: Almond milk for 1,09€ - so a little more expensive but tastes just as good.
Lunch:
Vegan Wrap filled with Hummus, Rocket, Cucumber and Red Pepper
Small piece of caramel chocolate (my downfall)
Snack:
Salt Sticks/Pretzels
Dinner:
Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Carrots, Peppers & Herbs baked with Olive Oil
Snack:
Some left over dairy Ice Cream
